300 Breakout Sessions

301 - Create Community Collaborations to Foster Food Dignity®

The United Nations says that collaboration is “critical” if we are to create “a more inclusive, just, and sustainable world.”  Food Dignity® expert, Clancy Harrison, knows that solving our national food insecurity crisis demands partnership and leadership from all institutions and sectors. But in order to do this, diverse stakeholders need to be able to come together, listen to one another, and play together nicely. Clancy shows audience members how to effectively communicate with potential community partners in order to secure strategic partnerships.

302 – An Intro to Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health: What’s WIC’s Role?

Feel like there is a missing piece in your work with families? Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health matters and WIC can help!

This breakout session will provide an understanding of how the early childhood years have an impact throughout the lifespan and the importance of giving each infant and young child the best possible start.  For this condensed Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Training the facilitators will encourage you to ask questions and get curious about your interactions with families and children in your work within WIC.  The more we understand who we are and how we show up, the better we can support the families we serve.

303 - Reproductive Justice: What’s WIC Got to Do with It?

The WIC program does more than meet nutritional needs; it plays an important role in connecting participants to vital information, resources, and care to lead healthy and thriving lives. This workshop explores the relationship between reproductive health and the WIC program. Participants will learn how Reproductive Justice principles transform the delivery of services. By understanding these interconnected aspects, participants will be encouraged to acknowledge the program's limitations and opportunities for impactful change.
